About the event

The Territorial Just Transition Plan represents perhaps the most important opportunity this decade for the community of Upper Silesia to embark on the path towards a green, healthy, and sustainable future, where no one is left behind. For that reason, its creation should make a participatory and inclusive process, based on public consultation.

Upper Silesia is one of the regions eligible for the European Commission's Just Transition Fund, which has been established to help countries move away from reliance on dirty fossil fuels. In order to unlock funding, countries must prepare Territorial Just Transition Plans, identifying how the eligible regions will be impacted by the green transition.

Climate Reality Europe and BoMiasto are organising  a speed conference to highlight the positive practice of the Territorial just transition plans process in Silesia, generate recommendations for improving the current plan and share experience for ensuring a successful territorial plans in Poland and beyond!

We will have representatives from local civil society groups, local authorities, NGOs, European Commission (to be confirmed) and European Parliament joining us!
